PAK SAMAD
SHAH ALAM, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) on Tuesday introduced A. Samad Ismail Chair under the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FCMS) to improve the knowledge of Malaysian communication and media studies at international level.
The Chair is also created with the aim of recognising the contributions of literary, Malay journalism and media in the struggle for independence as well as in the mind and personality development of the people.
UiTM vice-chancellor Datuk Prof Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar said FCMS was chosen by the Higher Education Ministry to manage the Chair based on several factors including the fact that it was the first university faculty in Malaysia to specialise in communications and media studies.
Besides, he said most of the editors in the current media organizations were UiTM graduates and some even had the privilege to learn directly from the late Tan Sri A. Samad Ismail, or better known as Pak Samad, when he worked as a part-time lecturer in the faculty, back in the 1970s.
Dr Sahol said many literary researches could be conducted, especially on the life of the country's most prominent journalist who helped inscribe Malaysia's history since the British and Japanese occupations, to the post-independence era.
Dr Sahol said research could also be conducted on new media like blogs, which clearly posed a threat to the print media, to the extent of causing the number of newspaper readers worldwide to decline, and newspaper companies to close shop.
Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah who attended the launch said the Chair was the first in local universities to be named after a journalist.
He said the Chair would also uplift the status of the research on Pak Samad to the regional level as he was not only a well-known figure in Malaysia, but also in Indonesia and Singapore.

THE G-POWER
The G-POWER X6 TYPHOON RS V10, it’s the fastest SUV ever made by the G-POWER with only 5 unit ever made. Lucky man to own this one off SUV. The car is the standard X6 M with twin turbo-charged engine. But with some spies on it, the power unit been increased from 5.0 to 5.5 litres plus supercharged air from the twin ASA T1-316 compressors which will be cooled to optimum performance temperatures by the double-flow, water-cooled intercoolerThis enormous power output is transmitted by a six-speed gearbox built by G-POWER to the rear axle. The automatic gearbox fitted as standard, just like the standard BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, have been sacrificed to the G-POWER engineers' objective of creating a pure-bred sports car in SUV clothing. This SUV equipped with 410 mm carbon-ceramic brake disks and 6-piston callipers. The car been reduce by 150kg by the normal weight after getting rid of the heavy xDrive all-wheel drive and making use of titanium as the material for the exhaust system, the four ultra-light carbon individual seats in the vehicle interior complete the weight reduction programme. Overall is the car ca. 150 kg lighter than the standard version. The result is a peak performance of 900 HP / 662 kW at 8.000 rpm and a maximum torque of 870 Nm at 6.800 revs. The G-POWER X6 TYPHOON RS V10 can be ordered as a completely finished vehicle from the G-POWER manufactory in Autenzell.

ANKONIAN
The concept is a mid-engined supercar but with a rather narrow body, cab backward classical GT silhouette, and complexity/combination of soft and angular surfaces.
By leaving the usual headlight graphics, and having very thin OLEDs embedded between the surfaces, an eccentric and mysterious feeling is achieved. The same principle was applied at the back too, by doing an alien-like face with two big exhausts as eyes, and diffuser as mouth. Plus it also does have flames that shoot out of the exhaust
